U-8 REGULATIONS

BALL SIZE: 4

SUBSTITUTIONS: At quarter unless an injury

Team Size: Ideally 8 players on each team. Five on the field at a time

Off sides: None

Playing Time: Minimum of 1/2 of the game per player

Fouls: Opposing team 6 yards away

Direct kicks: All fouls are direct kicks

Penalty kicks: NONE

Throw ins: Player gets a second chance at a throw in infraction. The referee will explain the infraction to the player

Duration of game: Four ten minute periods. Ten minute rest at halftime

Goal kicks: Taken any place in the goal area.

Heading: Not allowed by AYSO. This results in a direct kick for the opposing team at the spot of the infraction.

Slide Tackles: Not allowed until U-12
